Farming and Gardening

We are in the middle of the rainy season and every day you can find the farmers on their land. This year, for the first time since we got married, 'we' also farm maize like many of our neighbours. Now that Abukari’s father is too old to work the land anymore, Abukari and some of his brothers are responsible for providing his father's house with maize. For the past few years we have bought the maize for the family. However, this year one of the 'farmer-evangelists' is helping us to grow it and last week we went on an 'inspection tour':

'our maize field inspection'

We have also created a vegetable garden close to our house. Abukari's family used to grow vegetables which the women would sell in the market. Abukari loves to tend the soil at the end of the day and to take care of the plants. Samuel and Micah love to join their father and I enjoy using the fresh vegetables in our meals:

Prayer and Praise:

  • Thank God for the good rains so far
  • Thank God for good health
  • We hope to have a two week holiday at the beginning of August in Accra, please pray for a relaxing time and a safe journey
