Joint Venture

In July, Iris from the organisation Videre Microfinance in the US visited us here in Yendi. Videre was interested in partnering with us through their Micro-Business As Mission Program. Iris and a colleague, John, came to assess whether they felt that a program in Yendi would be possible.

The aim of the program is to provide training/discipleship so that Christian believers can develop their small businesses and at the same time have a spiritual and social impact in their communities. Following on from a “successful” assessment in July, Iris and a team from the US will come at the beginning of December to run Phase I of a 3-Phase program for 30 participants. This team of 6 business professionals will spend a week teaching topics such as Biblical business principles, business from God’s perspective, basic marketing and accounting skills. For 4 members of the team it will be their first visit to the African continent.

You can read more about the Videre Team’s forthcoming trip here and also about Iris’s earlier visits to us here and here.

Below, is a short video clip that Iris took during her visit with us in July. It shows how each “training session” begins with a time of praise and worship. As the camera moves round the group you can even catch a brief glimpse of Abukari!!

We are looking forward to welcoming the Videre Team to Yendi at the beginning of this exciting joint venture between Videre and BCA.

Please pray for:
  • safe travel for the Videre Team from the US to Accra and on to Yendi
  • the preparations the Videre Team are making for their visit and the training sessions
  • the participants – that they will have an enjoyable and beneficial time on the training course
  • all the arrangements and preparations being made in Yendi for the training and for those involved in hosting the Videre team and the participants
